GroupM UK is a leader in media investment management, driving innovation and financial excellence across its network of agencies. This role sits within the UK finance team, supporting the financial operations of specific agencies (EM & EMX) to ensure optimal working capital performance.
Role Overview
The AR Business Partner will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing working capital for GroupM UK. This position requires a proactive approach to financial management, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of month-end reporting while identifying and implementing process improvements. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with agency leadership, finance teams, and shared service centers to enhance operational efficiency and achieve working capital targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead working capital management for assigned agencies, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Identify and implement financial process improvements to achieve working capital targets.
- Support monthly Net Working Capital (NWC) meetings
- Conduct regular reviews of all NWC components, including MODA, unbilled media, trade creditors.
- Ensure MODA aging accurately reflects potential 120-day provisions and bad debt risks.
- Develop and maintain a strong AR network across offshore teams, agencies, and shared service centers.
- Prepare and deliver monthly reports and analysis on debtors and unbilled revenue.
- Liaise with agency leadership and finance teams, fostering collaboration and sharing best practices.
- Oversee cash collection in coordination with business and integration teams.
- Drive process standardization and automation in partnership with key stakeholders.
- Manage client onboarding, ensuring financial due diligence, credit risk assessment, and seamless integration into agency operations.
- Oversee client offboarding, ensuring outstanding balances are settled, financial obligations are met, and processes are followed to minimize risk exposure.
- Engage with existing clients alongside business teams to improve financial efficiency.
- Ensure financial governance and input for new business pitches.
- Educate teams on Net Working Capital (NWC) management and credit insurance policies.
Required Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience in a similar role within a media agency or media owner.
- Strong ability to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
